ARMY PARTY
28 MAY 2017

Once again, this party was held at Boot Camp SA in Johannesburg, it is the perfect venue and it comes complete with a drill Sergeant for the day! :-)

I just loved the military tent!

We decorated the eats & treats table with black & camouflage tablecloths, enamel cups & plates, green oil lanterns, camouflage triangle flag bunting, the birthday boy's name in camouflage alphabet letters, steel and wooden ammunition trunks, wooden crates, Dixie pans, green & white striped paper straws, an army belt and hat, a pair of army boots and wooden cutlery tied with twine.

We served camouflage rock candy in enamel cups, caramel and plain salted popcorn, chicken pops in mini enamel cups, sweets in packets with camouflage bag toppers and green jelly and chocolate mousse bowls topped with Flake!

To drink we served chocolate milk in bottles with camouflage wrappers as well as bottled water with camouflage labels.

And the adults enjoyed some of our delicious Gourmet Snack Platters. :-)

ARMY PARTY
22 OCTOBER 2016

We decorated this army themed eats & treats table with hessian and camouflage tablecloths, wooden and steel ammunition trunks, an army hat, belt and a pair of boots, wooden crates & boards, Dixie pans, enamel cups & plates, camouflage triangle bunting, toy soldiers, green oil lanterns and the birthday boy's name in camouflage alphabet letters.

The eats & treats included delicious "Tank Tyres" chocolate doughnuts, dog biscuits and sweets in packets with camouflage bag toppers, toy soldier cupcakes with camouflage wrappers, "Cannon Balls" meatballs, condensed milk tubes and camouflage pretzels.

To drink we served bottled water and Powerade, both with camouflage bag toppers.

Each little soldier took home a "Rat Pack" filled with treats.

I wonder how many children still know what a "Rat Pack" is? :)

ARMY PARTY
8 MAY 2016

This was a combined birthday party for twins, Juandre with his Army Party and Jene with her The Little Mermaid Party. :)

We decorated the eats & treats table with hessian tablecloths, camouflage tablecloths, a green grass table runner, wooden crates, a wooden pallet, wooden ammunition trunks, a steel ammunition trunk, an army hat, belt and a pair of army boots, Dixie pans, enamel cups & plates, toy soldiers, wooden spoons and the birthday boy's name in camouflage alphabet letters.

The eats & treats included Cadbury's Shortcake Tumbles "Bullets", "cheesies", condensed milk tubes (both inspired by the contents of "Rat Packs"), camouflage cupcakes with toy soldiers (one of my favourite elements), "Cannonballs" meatballs, green, black & brown sweets in packets with camouflage bag toppers, a camouflage fruit & nut platter, popcorn in camouflage boxes and green jelly cups.

To drink we served bottled water with camouflage labels and orange & naartjie flavoured energy drinks.

Each little soldier took home a cool camouflage drawstring backpack filled with treats.

ARMY PARTY
24 MAY 2015

This army party was held at Boot Camp SA, it was the perfect venue for little soldiers who wanted to get dirty under the command of a very tough corporal! :)

We set up and styled a nice big eats & treats table which we decorated with hessian & camouflage tablecloths, toy soldiers, green grass placemats, enamel plates & cups, a soldier's hat, boots & belt, a wooden ammunition trunk, a green oil lantern, Dixie pans and food labels.

A lot of the eats & treats were once again inspired by the "Rat Packs" our soldiers used to get like dog biscuits in packets with camouflage bag toppers, "cheesie's" and energy bars as well as toy soldier cupcakes with camouflage wrappers, Cadbury's Tumbles "Bullets", chocolate cake pops, green, brown & black sweets in packets with camouflage bag toppers, green jelly cups with wooden spoons and popcorn in camouflage boxes.

There was chocolate milk bottles with camouflage "hats" and bottled water with camouflage labels to drink.

Each little soldier took home an awesome camouflage drawstring backpack filled with treats.

ARMY PARTY
28 JUNE 2014

At some stage every little boy wants to be a soldier when he grows up, what a fun make believe theme for a party!

We served toy soldier cupcakes with camouflage wrappers, caramel popcorn in camouflage boxes, green, brown & black sweets in packets with camouflage bag toppers, "Cheesies" (just like in "Rat Packs"), Cadbury's Shortcake Tumbles "Bullets", dog biscuits in packets with camouflage bag toppers (also in "Rat Packs") and cute camouflage pretzels.

We decorated the table with the birthday boy's name in camouflage alphabet letter boxes, black & camouflage tablecloths, black chair covers, green grass placemats, a green grass table runner, wooden crates, an ammunition trunk, a green oil lantern, food labels, enamel plates & cups, Dixie pans and toy soldiers.

To drink we served bottled water with camouflage labels.

Each little soldier took home a "Rat Pack" party favour box filled with treats along with a packet of toy soldiers.

ARMY PARTY
14 SEPTEMBER 2013

Little boys love pretending to be soldiers. This was such a talented mommy, she went to so much trouble with the additional decor which included the corrugated iron backdrop, the haystacks, green oil lanterns, etc.

I had so much fun putting this eats & treats table together.  I remember back in the day when my uncle used to come back from the border with "Rat Packs" as treats for us.  We used to enjoy the "cheesies" & dog biscuits, the naartjie flavoured cooldrink, the condensed milk in tubes, the chewing gum and all the rest.

So I tried to relive some of that. :)

The eats & treats included spaghetti & tomato sauce in tins with wooden spoons, chocolate cake pops, "Cannon Balls" meatballs, "cheesies" in Dixie pans, camouflage pretzels, popcorn in camouflage boxes and dog biscuits in packets with camouflage bag toppers.

To drink we served chocolate milk in glass bottles with black straws.

Apart from the corrugated iron backdrop, the haystacks and green oil lanterns we used army boots, an army hat and a web belt (thank you to Tinus!), a wooden ammunition trunk, Dixie pans and food labels as decoration.

Each little soldier received a "Rat Pack" party favour box filled with treats to take home.
